Carolina Beach is a beautiful, quiet beach on the north end of Pleasure Island.  Located just south of Wilmington NC, Carolina Beach is easily accessible via the I-40, and is a 2 hour drive from the Research Triangle Park region.  The Sandstep Retreat is a ten-minute walk from "downtown Carolina Beach," where you can find a traditional Boardwalk area boasting excellent restaurants, an old-fashioned amusement arcade, and even bumper cars! 

Local attractions include the Carolina Beach State Park, North Carolina Aquarium (newly renovated), and Historic Fort Fisher.  Explore the nearby towns of Wilmington and Wrightsville Beach, with excellent shopping, dining, and entertainment options.

Carolina Beach is secluded, scenic and quiet.  The Sandstep Retreat is the best way to get away!
